Alex Farman-Farmaian
Alex began his career in investor relations at a boutique IR firm working with mid-cap technology and semi-conductor before jumping to business development and sales roles in technology companies. As an early employee and sales leader during his 7 years of tenure at Carta, Alex helped build Carta from 20 employees and <$1M of revenue to the market leader and launched the GTM teams for various products. Most recently, he ran sales for Carta’s liquidity team, establishing Carta as the standard for private company sponsored liquidity programs. Carta is the leading platform for private equities administration, with $2.5T of assets on platform and $100B AUA.Alex is a co-founder and leads business development at Alternativ. He currently resides in Brooklyn, though frequently makes it back to his hometown just outside of San Francisco and Salt Lake City, where he lived for a number of years. When not spending time on Alternativ, you can find him in the kitchen or making a ski trip west.
Education
Alex holds a B.A. from UC San Diego, where he studied political science and business. In the past he has held designations in equity compensation and securities licenses.
